Blood and Oil by DunkelDasRosenol Blood and Oil by DunkelDasRosenol
This is kind of a sequel to my earlier drawing, "To Azarath." It puts Raven once again in her comic book costume. It is in part a test in dynamic posing, something which my art tends to lack.

It's also a go at a real background. I tend to take shortcuts by the time I get to backgrounds, but this time I wanted to get it right. The background itself is based off of a corridor in a train station in London. I changed it around of course to give it that metallic, advanced look.

It was mainly inspired by a random thought that popped into my head of a seriously furious Raven with both blood and oil splashed on her face. I had planned to give her the four red demon eyes, but changed it because I thought it would take something away from the piece. I wanted Raven herself to be mad, not the Trigon in her.

I bet that Slade had brutally killed Robin in front of her eyes, and perhaps someone else of the TT, by having his robots ripping his limbs off, and now she's pissed.

Great picture BTW. You really made her eyes right, that's what you call savage.

great expression.

i've got mixed feelings about the BG: the right section looks great, the left section looks weird and out of place, like you pasted it...

in general i adivse you never to take shortcuts, it seems to hinders the impact of the piece.

Could you maybe elaborate? Which part of the left side? The fire, the wall, the whole thing?

mostly the fire, it seems out of place. the flames, not the explosion.
